Shooting

Shooting does not only imply to shoot for hunting or other purposes, but this is a sport in the Commonwealth games. Shooting has different sections and categories. It is a competitive sport in which a lot of people are interested. This game requires elements of concentration and determination blended with practice. There is a target and fire arm that is used to invade the target. This popular indoor game has been included in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. The shooters from all over the world will participate in this international event.
Shooting was given the status of sport by NRA or National Rifle Association long time back, and then it fell into the category of competitive sports in different events like the commonwealth games. Handgun shooting sport involves pistol shooting from a certain distance. Another type of shooting was developed which was later taken up for military training, is practical shooting. Shotgun shooting is a different game of Shooting.
This is one of the major attractions of Sports in 2010 Commonwealth Games. The spectators wait eagerly to see how the shooters react according to the clay targets which are hurled by a machine. India ranked first in shooting during the 2006 Commonwealth Games with a total of 27 medals in gold, silver, and bronze. In the next commonwealth games about to be held in 2010, New Delhi is all set to arrange such shooting events. The shooting events like rapid fire pistol, women's skeet, men's skeet, doubles trap and singles trap are also to be hosted during the coming Commonwealth Games.
