Sports Featured in 1982 Commonwealth Games
Ten sports were featured at 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. These included athletics, archery, boxing, badminton, cycling, shooting, lawn bowls, swimming and diving, weightlifting and wrestling. The first event in the XII Games held in Brisbane was the 100 km Road Trial in cycling. In this event, England won the Gold Medal with Australia having won the Silver Medal.

Forty six nations had participated in the in 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Australia with a total of 1,583 athletes along with 571 officials. This was a new record in the history of Commonwealth Games. As the host nation, Australia headed the medal table, being much ahead of the other participating nations. The leading nations participating in the 1982 Commonwealth Games were England, Canada, Scotland and New Zealand. The other nations who participated were India Nigeria, Wales, Kenya, Bahamas, Jamaica, Malaysia and many more.
