The host nation for the 1982 Commonwealth Games was Australia. The event took place from 30th September to 9th October in 1982 and was held in Brisbane in the state of Queensland. The Opening Ceremony of the 1982 Commonwealth Games was held at the QEII Stadium in Australia. The stadium at present called the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre. The athletics and archery competitions in the1982 Commonwealth Games were held at this the stadium, which is located at the Brisbane suburb of Nathan.
Sir Edward Williams KCMG, KBE was the chairman of 1982 Commonwealth Games held in Australia. The logo for the XII Games was designed by Hugh Edwards, a winner of a nation-wide competition in 1978.
