Commonwealth Youth Games

Commonwealth Youth Games began in the year 2000 and the first country to host this game was Scotland. The city of Edinburgh was chosen as the main venue for these games. Generally the Commonwealth Youth Games are held every four years. After the Scotland, this event was hosted in Australia in the year 2004. Many young talents from different countries participated in this championships. In the year 2008, the events are supposed to take place in Pune, Maharashtra in India. But this year the games have been taken as some of the test performances for the participants. The next one, on the other hand is supposed to take place in the year 2011 in Isle of Man, Douglas.
In this year 2008, Pune is getting a prestigious place to hold the performances of the Commonwealth Youth Games. There are various preparations going on for this upcoming event. There are some common as well as some special events going to take place in this event.

There are supposed to be 1300 participants in this upcoming event. 71 countries are going to perform in these events. 12th October has been selected as the beginning date for these events and on the other hand, they are supposed to come to an end on 18th October. Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Stadium is the main venue which has been selected for the performances of the games. Balewadi is the place where this stadium is located. Transportations and other facilities have been developed to a huge extent for these upcoming events.
