The cities in Australia that have so far hosted Commonwealth Games include Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Victoria and Melbourne. The winning bid for the 2018 Commonwealth Games will probably be announced in 2011. The Australian Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA) is in charge of the participation of various cities in the Commonwealth Games. This association is an independent entity and separated from the Australian Olympic Committee.
Besides Hobart the other cities biding for the 2018 Commonwealth Games include Sheffield, Accra, Wellington, Karachi, Singapore, Cape Town, Durban, Colombo, and Lusaka. All these cities are listed under the Speculated Potential Bids group along with Hobart.
