Commonwealth Games is a type of sport event, in which a number of nations participate from all across the world. This multinational event is a multi sport event, in which different countries compete in a variety of sport events. It happens after every 4 years and the venue keeps on shifting from one place to the other. CGF or Commonwealth Games Federation is the organizer, which is also responsible for the control and direction of the sport events. Zimbabwe is one of the popular countries that take pat in the Commonwealth games, almost every time. Zimbabwe took part in the years 1982 and has been continuously participating from 1990 to 2002.
About Zimbabwe:
Zimbabwe, which was previously known as Southern Rhodesia, is situated in the southern region of Africa. It is bounded by Limpopo and Zamberi rivers along with Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique and Zambia on southwest, south and east and northeast respectively. Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe and its official language is English. It is in the region of CAT or Central Africa Time Zone and Zimbabwe Dollar is the currency of this country. Zimbabwe is famous for its cricket team, which tale part in a number of cricket tournaments worldwide.

Participation of Zimbabwe in Commonwealth Games:
In the year 2002, Zimbabwe was at first banned from participating in the game as African countries were suspended from Commonwealth Games owing to the violence during the re election of President Mugabe. But, it was finally allowed to participate as Mike Hooper, the chief executive of Commonwealth Games Federation wanted Zimbabwe to participate, it being one of the members of Commonwealth games. Zimbabwe will also participate in the next Commonwealth Game, which will be organized in New Delhi, India.
