Commonwealth Games is a multinational, multi- sports event. It is held after four successive years. The participating countries, in fact, comprise the Commonwealth of Nations. The Commonwealth of Nations is a worldwide political organization of independent nations. Their dependencies also comprise a part of them. All the nations recognize the British monarch as the head of the Commonwealth. The fact they share in common is that they were all formerly colonies of England. The Commonwealth of Nations work towards promoting democracy, good government, the rule of the law, free trade and multilateralism. This is to mention the major ideals.

The games engender sportsmanship and healthy co-operation. Solomon Islands are one of the prominent countries which participate in the Commonwealth Games. The Solomon Islands have participated in five Commonwealth Games till now. We are soon looking forward to their performance in the Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi.
In the Commonwealth 2010 Games, New Delhi, Competing Nations Worldwide, the Solomon Islands are in fact, going to be one of the participating nations. The Solomon Islands first participated in the Commonwealth Games which were held in the year 1982 at Brisbane at Australia.
Commonwealth Games 2010, New Delhi, scheduled to take place in the city of Delhi, is going to have 71 nations participating in all. There are entire lists of events which have been decided. The Commonwealth Games 2010 is an exciting event which is going to be viewed eagerly by people all over the world. Some of the games which are going to feature in this event are archery, wrestling, aquatics, netball, rugby as well as shooting. These games are going to be played at different venues, this depending on the nature of the games.

We are once again looking forward to the performance of the Solomon Islands in this event. For the Solomon Islands which comprise an archipelago of islands- both rocky and of the coral reef types, are situated in the waters of the South Pacific. They joined the Commonwealth in the year 1978.
Solomon Islands was last seen performing its very best in the Commonwealth Games which took place in the year 2006 at Melbourne. They were first seen attending the game in the year 1982 which took place at Brisbane. There were 13 brilliant sportsmen who represented Solomon Islands.
We look forward to a similar performance put in by the Solomon Islands at the forthcoming coming games too.
