Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland is one of the competing nations in the 2010 Commonwealth Games scheduled to be held in New Delhi in India. Northern Ireland has participated in every edition of the Commonwealth Games, except in the year 1950. This country has the merit of winning medal success at every edition of the Commonwealth Games in which they have participated. The participation of the country in the Games has been arranged by Commonwealth Games Council for Northern Ireland. Medals Won by Northern Ireland
At the Commonwealth Games the first gold medals for the Province of Northern Ireland was won by Watson and Rosbotham in the Lawn bowls and Thelma Hopkins in athletics in 1954. The country won Silver medals in lawn bowls and shooting at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006.
The other competing nations in the Commonwealth Games include Malta Newfoundland, New Zealand, British Honduras, Sri Lanka and India to name a few.
