British Virgin Islands is one of the participating nations in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The multinational and multi sports event of 2010 is scheduled to be held at New Delhi of India.
British Virgin Islands at the Commonwealth Games:
British Virgin Islands made its debut at the Commonwealth Games of 1990, which was held at Auckland of New Zealand. In the year 1994, the British Virgin Islands played host to the Commonwealth Games. In the Commonwealth Games of 1998, British Virgin Islands sent a team of four athletes to Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia.
The nation then sent different sportsmen and officials to the Commonwealth Games in the year 2002. British Virgin Islands also participated in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Victoria of Australia.
The Caribbean nation has not been able to win a single medal at the Commonwealth Games so far. But they have shown their strength in the sprints discipline. This Caribbean island nation is making every effort to win their first medal at the Commonwealth Games of 2010.

In the year 1680, Anegada and Virgin Gorda were also conquered. The island was administered from Jamaica until separate territory status was gained for the British Virgin Islands in the year 1967.
